We consistently provide our clients with an exceptional level of expertise and personal service. We are currently seeking a Director of Manufacturing to join our team!
This key individual is responsible for the oversight of all activities, personnel and resources in establishing the strategy and direction of manufacturing operations to meet the business demands of the organization. You will provide leadership and direction to manufacturing departments in support of plant initiatives by providing strong management and guidance to implement manufacturing systems, modify facilities and improve business processes.
In this busy position, you’ll provide manufacturing expertise, leadership and counsel to the organization in directing overall plant performance through strong management, professional development and effective communication of resources and staff to achieve high performance work culture. You’ll participate in activities and discussions at the executive level of the organization to guide the company’s growth and planning of the business. You will establish clear and consistent lines of communication with the executive team that educate the senior company leadership team on overall progress, issues and challenges of manufacturing operations with accuracy and timeliness.
You will also formulate and recommend productivity policies and programs, technology investment, and cost management that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and profitability. You’ll be responsible for planning and initiating major projects (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.) and identifying and delegating to appropriate staff to manage and drive projects. Additionally, you should be able to develop and direct solutions to promote continuous improvement initiatives of overall plant operations and line performance while leading the organization’s achievement of quality and safety components in manufacturing operations. This includes developing, leading, and implementing Lean manufacturing principles and culture. You should lead and direct effective interactions and positive cooperation through work relationships between all levels of the organization as topics relate to manufacturing to achieve business goals optimizing manufacturing output, quality, scheduling, reliability, safety and cost variance and waste objectives.
Our ideal candidate will have strong leadership capabilities as well as a strong business acumen and teambuilding skills. You should possess a BA/BS in industrial, mechanical or business administration, or a 4-year technical degree in related discipline. You must have 10+ years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a process-oriented operations and/or related industry and a minimum of 5 years of experience managing a significant segment of a large manufacturer or the entire operation of a smaller manufacturer. You will also have a minimum of 5 years of experience providing executive level management in a wide range of disciplines and/or departments in a (web) printing and direct mail manufacturing environment. Experience with managing a digital printing operation is a plus.
